Our Story
How it Started
Since 1952, Camp Fireside has been a place where children across New England encounter the life-changing message of the Gospel in a safe, encouraging environment. For generations, we have partnered with parents, churches, and communities to help nurture faith, character, and meaningful relationships.
What We Do
Our programs are designed to support families by guiding children toward strong Christian values while encouraging healthy growth in mind, body, and spirit. Through intentional teaching, positive role models, and time spent building friendships, Camp Fireside seeks to help each child develop a balanced life rooted in biblical truth.
Where We're Headed
Our campers come from 11 neighboring communities around Barrington, making Camp Fireside an accessible and convenient choice for families. Because most of our programs are offered during the day, we recognize that commute time matters to parents, and we strive to serve families within a reasonable travel distance. As we look ahead, we are excited to expand our ministry by offering more overnight programs in the near future, creating additional opportunities for meaningful experiences and deeper growth.
Our Team
Rob & Megan Lyons
Executive Director (Rob), Day Camp Director (Meg)
Rob and Meg Lyons have been working together at Camp Fireside since 2007. After many years of attending as campers, they met while on staff and were married in Gerrish Chapel in 2011. They currently reside in Barrington with their two daughters. In addition to their work at Fireside, Rob serves as a Paramedic at a nearby hospital and Meg teaches at a local Christian school. They both enjoy spending time in God's beautiful creation and sharing His Word with the next generation of Fireside campers.
Meet The Board
Leigh Mura
Leigh's relationship with Camp Fireside began as a child and has continued through every stage of life. After spending summers as both a camper and staff member, she returned as a parent, watching her own children experience the same joy and growth in God’s grace. Today, she has served on the Board of Directors for two decades and contributes as the Board Secretary. Her deep commitment reflects a belief in the lasting impact of the Fireside community on generations of campers.

Larry Urban
A retired mental health/rehabilitation professional, Larry is very involved with the missionary program in his home church and he is also an active member of The Gideons International. Larry has been a member of the Board of Trustees for over three decades. He first experienced Camp Fireside in the 1980s as a family camper with his wife, Christine, and three children – Ted, Katy, and Karen. During this time, he experienced the truth of the camp verse, Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly… singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Larry credits the reality of God’s presence at Camp Fireside for his continued involvement in the ministry to this day.
Pete Gould
Pete has been a Barrington, NH resident since 2012. Pete and his wife, Anne and live across the street from Camp Fireside. Anne has lived here her entire life and attended Camp Fireside growing up. Pete was raised in the Seacoast of NH and was privileged to grow up in a Christian family with a strong faith in the Lord. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age. His father was a career Submariner in the US Navy and Pete followed in his footsteps joining the Submarine Service after graduating from Portsmouth High School. He served in the US Navy for six years and after leaving the Navy was hired by the NH State Police as a Trooper. Pete served the State of New Hampshire from 1988-2016. His walk with the Lord has seen him through life's many ups and downs but God has always been faithful. Pete and Anne have two children, Joshua and Noelle, who both have families of their own. They have been blessed with five wonderful grandchildren. Pete is now retired and serves as a board member to Camp Fireside.
Marcia Allison
Marcia has been part of the Fireside community for most of her life—first as a camper during childhood summers, then as a counselor, and now as a dedicated board member. Her commitment to supporting young people extends to her professional work as an Area Program Manager with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. Previously, she spent over a decade with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Hampshire, advocating for children in the foster care system. Marcia brings deep experience in child welfare and a lifelong passion for creating safe, nurturing spaces where young people can thrive.
